Appellation Pessac-Léognan
Today, there are still traces of the presence of the monks of Sainte-Croix Abbey in Bordeaux, who owned the Carbonnieux estate in centuries gone by. In the acronym that appears at the top of the towers and at the centre of the gate pediment, we find the "S" and the Holy Cross, the emblem of the abbey. It is this period of the history of Carbonnieux that we wanted to convey through the name of our second wine.
The wine of Croix de Carbonnieux is crafted from a selection aimed at producing a classic wine reserved for the traditional market of the restaurant trade and cellarmen. The white wines are pale yellow, with aromas of exotic fruit and grapefruit, and offer the distinctive mineral character of great wines. The red wines offer a fine ruby colour, a nose of red fruit, blackcurrant and mulberry, with that smoky touch that is so pleasant in Léognan wines.
